Santierul Naval Constanta - Romania

Santierul Naval Constanta (SNC) is situated on the Black Sea coast in Constanța, Romania, at the entrance to the Port of Constanta, the largest port on the Black Sea and a major maritime gateway into Eastern Europe. Its strategic position provides direct access to deepwater trade routes and close proximity to the Danube–Black Sea Canal, giving the yard strong connectivity to inland Europe. This location makes SNC an important regional hub for both seagoing vessels and offshore projects operating in the Black Sea, Mediterranean, and beyond.

Facilities

SNC is one of the largest shipyards in Eastern Europe, equipped with two major dry docks capable of handling vessels up to 250,000 DWT and a floating dock with a lifting capacity of around 8,000 tons. The yard features over 1,000 meters of outfitting berths, heavy-lift cranes (up to 300 tons), and comprehensive workshops for steel fabrication, mechanical, electrical, and piping works. It also has specialised facilities for offshore construction, conversions, and complex retrofits, including LNG and scrubber installations. Its infrastructure supports both large tanker and bulk carrier projects as well as naval and offshore vessels.

Core strengths

SNC’s core strength lies in its ability to accommodate some of the largest vessels trading in the Black Sea and Mediterranean region, combined with its technical expertise in both newbuilding and complex conversions. The shipyard is recognised for high-capacity repairs, competitive project costs, and skilled engineering teams. Its Black Sea location and direct integration with Constanta Port make it an attractive partner for shipowners looking for efficient docking, large scale retrofits, or heavy industrial projects without deviating from regional trade routes.
