Reimerswaal - The Netherlands
Shipyard Reimerswaal is located at Hansweert in the province of Zeeland, in the southwest of the Netherlands. Its position along the busy Western Scheldt estuary gives the yard direct access to the North Sea and the inland waterways of Europe. This makes it a convenient repair stop for vessels operating in Northern European trade routes, especially those transiting between Antwerp, Rotterdam, and other key ports. The yard’s waterside location allows it to serve both seagoing and inland vessels efficiently.
Facilities
Reimerswaal specialises in docking and afloat repairs, with facilities that include a graving dock, outfitting quays with heavy lift cranage, and well-equipped workshops for hull, mechanical, and piping works. The yard also provides extensive support for painting, blasting, and steel renewal, ensuring that both maintenance and class-required work can be carried out under one roof. Its berths are designed for quick turnaround jobs, and its workshops are geared to support both scheduled docking projects and emergency interventions.
In line with its growth strategy, the yard is expanding its capacity with the addition of a second floating dock. With a length overall (LOA) of 168 metres and a beam of 28 metres, the new dock will accommodate vessels up to 18,000 tonnes. It is scheduled for handover at the end of this year and will be fully operational in Spring 2026. This significant investment will enhance the yard’s ability to handle larger vessels and increase its throughput for both planned and urgent repairs.
